UCOWF History

History of the United Council on Welfare Fraud

The United Council on Welfare Fraud was established in 1985 with the merger of the National Welfare Fraud Association and the Eastern Regional Council on Welfare Fraud.  The establishment of the United Council on Welfare Fraud joined the two organizations to provide a single organization that addressed the issues that faced those engaged in public assistance program integrity duties across the North American continent.  Those who served as organization presidents are listed on this page.  Then, as well as today, the organization presidents steer the direction and begin the initiatives that make the United Council on Welfare Fraud a relevant and important entity in the fight against waste and abuse in our public assistance programs.
